Am I Out Of Touch.

Lefties get personal and insulting very quickly. It may be Lefties subconsciously think  they're virtuous and caring so anyone who disagrees with them cannot be and is therefore game for insults. Or it could just be that when they start losing the arguments (Lefties tend to be idealists rather than pragmatists) they start playing the man rather than the ball. I see this regularly.

Ooh,  I wonder if that's the reason why they haven't been elected for ages

I am a member of many forums and without any shadow of a doubt the left are more insulting and foul mouthed.  Many are incapable of accepting that they may be incorrect so resort to personal insults.  The left are excellent at being all shouty and have an amazing talent for holding up placards and being violent.   Not too sure if it's because they are just miserable or if they are bored.

I guarantee that no labour supporter has had a brick or eggs thrown at their window because they have a Vote Labour poster on display.

We all know that wouldn't apply if you had a Vote Conservative in your window.

It's that simple.

Check out this Forum and assess for yourself the shoutiest and most insistent self opinionated poster who resorts to thinly veiled expletives .

To refute your post is that simple.

What you seek is what you will find, but basically this is a totally baseless argument .

So in your mind the left wing leaning biased BBC news stories gets personal and insulting comments from the audience they aim for.

Politics is a dirty busines and personal comments and slurs are no different from any direction.

I made no comment on left / right bias on the Beeb, in fact I specifically said :

I recommend reading some of the comments on the BBC news stories (to be fair these are by the "audience" not by the Beeb itself) you will soon see.

I am not talking about the politicians themselves, I am talking about Left leaning posters on forums. And there is no doubt whatsoever they are more personal, more insulting and more prone to trolling. Not all of them, but more than in the other direction.

Woke. Snowflake. Trump. Laptop. Gummint.

Would you be insulted by being called Woke ?

I do not even know what "Gummint" even means.

There is nothing wrong with  thinly veiled expletives as they express strength of feeling. One can insult the message, or even, in the third person, people holding those views.

e.g. people who wanted me locked down are ****ers.

It's a direct personalised insult aimed at someone on this forum that is unacceptable.

e.g. xxxx is a ****er.

No need for subjective "assessments". :)

Expletives can be objectlvely searched.

And "shoutiest" is also subjective.

An objective check would be a posters post count!  :)

As to self opiniated?  Welcome to a public discussion forum!  :)

That is a matter of opinion on a written forum.

Using the same terms in general conversation is considerably different because there is a context and subtle inflection.

Using exactly the same word in a bar can raise a laugh or provoke a punch on the nose.

The other major issue on any Forum is that they swiftly provoke polarised opinions.

As a Socialist leaning ,lifelong SWFC supporter who voted firmly against Brexit,I regularly meet up with 3 friends dating back to my school days.

They remain my closest friends despite being 3 SUFC supporters,2 voted for Brexit and 2 vote Conservative.

I was referring to the fact that you started a thread on your views on BBC bias

Once again your points evade me.

Never mind.

All words I could use in front of the children.

As opposed to some names I'm called here that I don't even want to type!  :)

Health care is just a huge multi billion dollar industry. Populated by a cross section of human beings earning a living.

And run by government fiat.

And if a right wing government is in power the left scream incompetence, and if a left wing government is in power, the right wing scream incompetence.

It seems that 100% of the population are screaming incompetence at various times.

There's a huge bureaucracy of earners between you and your doctor, so it's not surprising that it's not perfect!

It’s perfect for some.
