I find it quite amusing that all the pics SCC are using to promote active travel ,eg walking and cycling show people walking and cycling on perfectly flat surfaces with perfect sunny warm weather,in reality Sheffield is quite hilly and for at least 6 months of the year if not more its cold and windy and raining or snowing etc

Have you also noticed there are no druggies sat begging for money and alcho's scrapping each other on the same artist impression pics..

Is this really the level this thread has reached now?

Why don't McDonald's show all the ****heads in their branches in their adverts?

Why don't Asda show all the shoplifters and security chasing people out the door in their adverts?

Why don't TUI show people at the airport on their return journey being told their plane is going to be 19 hours late?

Etc etc.

🙄🙄

Because that's how it is and people know the reality of all the scenarios you have painted.

Active Travel is something new that the general public no very little or nothing about so it's only fair the other side of the painting is shown.

Fortunately, anyone with half a braincell knows to disregard adverts.

The point still stands. No organisation is going to point out negatives when they advertise things.

Well, not in this country anyway. In America all adverts for medical procedures and drugs have to list the negatives in a voice over, rather than squashed at the bottom of the screen.

Not really any different to car adverts always showing happy, smiling drivers racing round on empty city streets, or nipping off for wild off-road adventures in far-off parts of the world.

Something for drivers to think about as they sit in a Vauxhall Corsa in a queue of traffic on their way to Tesco for the weekly shop.

Are you serious?

Active travel is something new? Do you think they just invented walking?

Cycles have been around since 1817.

Nothing new at all. You just want to have a pop at everything the council do.
