Perhaps it might be an idea to reserve judgement on the adequacy of the signing plan until all the permanent signs are all in place. ( temporary advance warning signs have been up for a while now)

They have to start installing them somewhere, so naturally some will appear before others. The CAZ doesn’t start operation till 27 Feb.

We've seen enough of SCC's incompetent planning and execution over the years to know it's not gonna get any better till we remove them from office or start holding them accountable for wasting taxpayer cash, especially in the current economic climate.

Bloke who lives at number 26 drives a complete heap of junk, it's a 15 plate so about time it went on the scrap, plus his car brings the neighbourhood down

Anyone driving though our neighbourhood would look at his car and think what sort of people live on this road?

Maybe charge anyone who owns an 18 plate or older £50 to drive through the clean air zone?

Why are people driving 5 year old cars, when there are electric cars available?

(I have to point out that we have got a 22 plate electric car, and we get our 23 plate brand new car in a couple of months)

The problem is that no council of whatever political makeup is going to be able to please everyone all the time.

People tend to label anything they don’t agree with “ a waste of public money”.

Sheffield council is currently run by a coalition of Labour and Greens. The only other opposition is Lib Dem and they were in power a couple of times in recent years. Did you notice any difference?

They have started sending letters to people who are driving in the zone to give them advance warning of the zone starting next month. Someone moaned about it on here.  People are now moaning they ARENT telling people.

They clearly cant win either way can they?

It may shock you to learn that we can not all afford new cars every year. Terrible isnt it.

there will not be any change as they are still being "advised" by the same people.

To be honest I don't think the level of incompetence and wasting of tax payers money is just something that SCC are guilty of ,it's many councils up and down the country. But Sheffield City Council have made some really costly bad mistakes over the years.

labour, green, lib dem all from the same ilk crush corporations, capitalists or anyone that tries to get on in life, so no wonder sheffield didnt notice any different , maybe some day the socialist & liberal voting mentality in Sheffield will change, can only be for the better.

You'd have a fit with mine then. It's 20 years old (drives like new) and is ULEZ compliant so even under CAZ it wouldn't be chargeable.
