To what extent would you support such a move? Its a good job that the legal limits are already being met (bar next to the train station) Edited February 3, 2023 by HeHasRisen

The CAZ is destined to fail due to the train station so expect a revision of charges in about 5 years

Keeping a whole zone in place due to one monitoring station outside the control of road vehicles would be absolute stupidity. Can national and local government charge diesel trains for entering a clear air zone? Edited February 3, 2023 by HeHasRisen

Almost as stupid as not rearranging the boundary to remove the top half which is already compliant Leeds and Manchester have lobbied for and got changes made. Sheffield? wellllllllllllllllllllllllllll

blackydog
Whatever you believe regarding the CAZ, and I do believe in making the air cleaner for residents of Sheffield city centre. Sheffield council has been at war with drivers wanting to enter the city centre, for about 25 years (maybe more). They are not to be trusted to fairly run the CAZ. Sheffield? wellllllllllllllllllllllllllll Did you not hear the interview on the radio yesterday? It explains the situation well. Seems that once a national government directive has been made it cant be reversed. Sheffield had one issued, the other areas didnt. There was a summary of it posted on this thread yesterday. Maybe go and read it? Edited February 3, 2023 by HeHasRisen

Maybe go and read it? Of course a directive can be reversed, although much better to not get one in the first place. And considering the SCC has had a vendetta against cars for at least 25 years, how come Sheffield still got one issued when the other cities didn't? Doesn't show SCC to be competent no matter which way you look at it.
