if i'm right, this detail comes from the Oxford scheme.

the 'passes' are basically permission slips to use bus gates.

seems generous to me...

Really?

I already have enough red tape in my life thankyou very much, without having to worry about applying for passes.

And 100 is generous? There are 365 days in a year.

I visit my elderly Dad at least twice a week in another part of the city.

I go to hospitals regularly in another part of the city.

What about getting to work?

I have family and friends, and business all over the place, do I really want all this faffing about, or having to add to pollution by going a circuitous route to get 5 miles?

You won't even know you've used up your 100 passes until the bill drops on your doormat.

Is my road tax that I already pay to use the roads going to be reduced?

This is just a money making scheme for a cash strapped council.

would you rather drive 5 miles at 8mph, or 10miles at 30 ?

Why are you posting requests to  “normal people” about a scheme in Oxford on a Sheffield forum?

He's doing what you do when I have talked about our crazy city centre.

You always talk about other cities and say that Leeds, Manchester etc  do the same.

You have done that on many occasions in an effort to excuse Sheffield.

As others point out, explaining something in a wider context is rather different from picking on some random scheme in another city and firstly implying that it has something to do with 15 minute zones, which it does not, and secondly making out that it is something new and terrible and has some implications here, which again it does not.

Sheffield already has bus gates. They have been around for a long time. Sheffield already issues permits to exempt drivers from these restrictions where necessary and has been doing so for many years.
