How do we compare them?

Why would you compare them?

Whether public healthcare in France, Germany, Spain (etc.) is in worse crisis than in the UK or not matters how, to the 90 year old Sheffielder with a fractured collarbone or the 25 year old Sheffielder with a burst appendix, in each case waiting hours in an ambulance with significantly worse life expectancy due to this crisis?

Because it would be good to know what caused the crisis. If Scotland or Wales performed differently, then we could say the prime minister in each country made a difference.

If the UK as a whole performed differently, that could be down to Brexit or the Westminster government.

I posted a link (tweet) earlier, it doesn’t explain what caused the crisis in the UK, but it shows its scale relative to several of the countries mentioned by alchresearch. Look it up.

Edit - apologies, it was in another thread (there’s a few about the NHS crisis by now)

The NHS is always in crisis, I don't listen any more, particularly since they used that apparently innocent phrase to encourage the government to suppress us all and force us to wear masks. They really lost my support over that.

It is the job of the NHS to allow us to live our lives as we wish (that is why they are there), not the other way around.

And if the NHS cannot cope with doing that then I am starting to think we should get rid of it. Something I never thought I would ever say......

To paraphrase Friedrich von Schrötter, "Britain is not a country with a health service, but a health service with a country".

It was the politicians who made the decision, and the lockdowns brought down the rapid increase in hospitalisations pdq.

But we've been through all that before on the covid thread..........................................

So the answer is no then. The only original remark from your own head and without a link is,  a new name for me.

That's all I need to know
