Thanks for that link. But it’s hardly conclusive (Musk admits as much himself) and, even if the Brazilian Twitter staff did give preference to Lula (…a possibility to balance with Musk restoring Trump, Greene and others’ Twitter accounts since his takeover), it’s hardly different to a broadsheet giving preference to a side or the other. The Torygraph springs to mind 😉 On the topic of ‘social media steerage’ topically for this thread, refer the link I added in that earlier post. There is, by now, plenty of form by vested interests in stoking extreme political opinions into insurrectionist behaviour via social media (and mainstream media, see Tucker Carlson recently adding a fresh load of ‘election stolen in Brazil’ onto the mountain of manure). I mean, talk about *obvious*: Thousands more like this since Musk’s takeover last year. Then baying mob of credulous cretins will bay…and some day, eventually come to wonder, why their daily life is turning to dystopian s*** with little to no services, resources, prospects or opportunities left 🙄 🐑 Edited January 10, 2023 by L00b

FBI officials told Fox News that the nearly $3.5 million payment to Twitter was a "reimbursement" for the "reasonable costs and expenses associated with their response to a legal process… For complying with legal requests, and a standard procedure." The FBI officials also said that Twitter isn't the only social media company that is being paid by the federal agency, telling Fox News "We don’t just reimburse Twitter." When asked by Fox News what other companies have been reimbursed by the FBI as details about the payments, the FBI officials declined to elaborate. https://news.yahoo.com/fbi-declines-list-other-social-014647815.html The "baying mob of credulous cretins will bay" at the very thought of Musk running twitter, but somehow I don't think the FBI will be "reimbursing" him anymore. As your article makes clear, there is a statutory right of reimbursement for the time spent processing requests from the FBI. 1 hour ago, trastrick said: When asked by Fox News what other companies have been reimbursed by the FBI as details about the payments, the FBI officials declined to elaborate. https://news.yahoo.com/fbi-declines-list-other-social-014647815.html Standard practice with anything FBI related, not at all unusual. The reimbursements have been a right, enshrined in law... for years... involving almost every kind of business... ...again, is entirely normal practice and indeed is mandated by law! 1 hour ago, trastrick said: The "baying mob of credulous cretins will bay" at the very thought of Musk running twitter, but somehow I don't think the FBI will be "reimbursing" him anymore. Given that both Twitter and Tesla are now worth less than half their value since Musk bought the place... it's not like they don't need the money! According to your link, the payments started under Trumps FBI? 1 hour ago, trastrick said: As always in matters of political collusion and corruption. ...or a case adding 2+2, and getting 7... because you added in a load of things that are entirely normal practice, or indeed a legal requirement, that under the most basic of scrutiny equate to nothing. 1 hour ago, trastrick said: Follow The Money! Given the instances highlighted in your linked Fox article, sounds like another opportunity for someone to make a complete jack-ass of themselves.
