In any case you can go as fast as you want, only a couple of the gantries have cameras on them and they are very obvious as they are bright yellow at the side of the road. Just slow down at those ones. Nudge nudge wink wink.

Anyone who gets caught by those smart motorway cameras should get an additional fine for driving without due care and attention. They even fluoresce in the dark.

In any case, there is no way that 62 would ever be a limit as it too difficult to administer from the point of view of looking at a car speedo, 60 is a nice even number that is marked on the dial (if not by a number, by a line)

The recommendation is a lowering of 6.2mph not 62mph speed limit in large cities to lower demand.

Where you have congestion I wouldn't have a problem with 50mph if I'm heading into standing traffic a few miles ahead.

Speeding is the second biggest factor after the cummuative amount of vehicles in creating congestion.

Keep to the speed limit and don't close the gaps.

As for banning cars on Sundays in cities, why not give it a go yourself insead of having it enforced?
