Excuses excuses, every body and their dog are jumping on the price hype band wagon, greedy bas----,

I begrudge the dog jumping on the band waggon. They want their bone and eat it.

Tesco are as bad as the rest...

not sure about other Tesco stores through the country, but I have noticed a trend in our local ones...

They do "Aldi Price Match" - that's fine, if you want to drop prices to match, or keep them, but I'm noticing them raising prices, then saying "Aldi Price match" - on products that were already cheaper.... VERY annoying!!!

on  a cracker, no comparison,

cheap stuff is a bit of a choking hazard when melted

Don't melt it then, although that probably applies to any cheese though.

Cheese with stuff in it.....no sir.

Next you'll be suggesting Stilton with apricot.

the cheap cheddar tends to go stringy when heated, there's a noticeable texture difference compared to the good stuff

It depends what you actually mean by heated. In mine it doesn't go stringy at all and makes no difference at all to the texture, but then I do make a superb and very creamy smooth cheese sauce. If that happens in yours then you are not making it right despite the cheese you use. I don't think the new age cranberry one would taste nice in a Lasagne either.
