Established in 2010, Square Hole Comedy's first Sunday night smorgasbord of 2023 will feature an equal contingent of familiar favourites from Square Holes past plus new pals from the UK and global circuit.

Jain Edwards

Host of her own eponymous alternative cabaret, Jain Edwards is Rhyl’s most relatable comedian and molten core of Manchester’s centrifugal tour de comedic force; a nerve centre of North Wave comedy. An autistic actor, writer and stand-up she-devil, Jain is the snot-nosed surrealist who brought us Top Bodybuilder Brian and passively profited from the streaming boom with satirical explorations of the worst kinds of humans, i.e. entrepreneurs and landlords. Absurdist appearances on ‘Escape the North’ and her own ‘Stakeholders’ Twitch streams provided a lifeline of disturbingly well-observed characterisations delivered with Jain’s uniquely knowing smile and ocular glint. Jain is an all-time favourite of everyone who knows best.

Jain has appeared on the BBC’s Laugh Lessons, Encouraging Productions’ Taking Stock and Pulped’s Visit Yorkshire.

“Pleasingly offbeat” — The Guardian

“An excellent exercise in inventive, immensely creative comedy” — The Skinny

“Edwards succeeds with levity, charm and a knowing smile” — The List

“Get in early to catch a rising talent” — Short Com
