A well remembered game v Spurs

January 25th 1958

United in the old 2nd division and they beat Spurs 3-0 at White Hart Lane

Ilkley Moor Bah tat rang out from the terrace

Yes I was there, still got the programme.

Just wondering if it was the same year we won at newcastle in the cup.

3-0 and Billy Russell scored a Hat trick. also played in Tangerine shirts.

Evening Padders

The victory against Newcastle was on March 4th 1961

I was there and gobsmacked when we scored 3 goals in the 1st 20 minutes

As you probably know, I support both Sheffield teams.

The Blades and the Owls have given us some memorable moments this season.

A win tomorrow will be truly magnificent, and it might just happen..

Hi Alex, can't remember who got Newcastle's goal

The crowd was 54640 in a ground where 3 sides had no cover.

Back on topic

In the cup owt can happen !

Ruddy hell, the cup when I wer a lad,

They called it cup fever back then, and it wer.

I remember going to Everton and winning 1-0 in the cup.

Got beaten up that day (long story) but it was worth it.

Also the 3 match epic against Leicester in the semi's.

Owt can happen, and it does.

It's a pity it's lost some of the magic.
