Scotland And Independence -What Happens Next?

It's been just over 24 hours since Nicola Sturgeon announced her resignation as Scottish first minister and leader of the SNP.

Let's have a look at where things are now.

The SNP's National Executive Committee will meet later today at about 18:30 via videolink to decide the timetable for a leadership race to find her replacement.

There are a few politicians being touted as key contenders to replace Sturgeon.

But throughout the day more and more SNP MPs have joined calls to delay the party's independence summit - due to be held next month in Aberdeen.

They argue that they need time to appoint a new leader after Sturgeon's shock resignation yesterday.

Scottish independence = won't happen.

The SNP's been getting its kilt in a bunch on the issue for years but it'll never happen, the Scottish government would probably have gone bust years ago without financial assistance from London for a start.

But be honest. How can you blame anyone who wants to be independent from that useless shower of idiots in London?

We are paying dearly because we chose not to be part of the EU.  Will the Scots be willing for their economy go down the pan to have a so called independence.
Nearly every economy in the world are joining  together in cooperatives

The Scots  never wanted to leave the EU and so they want Independence so that they can get back into the EU.

Not a straight ride into the club though.  As a freshly minted country they won't have any kind of financial record, which is a key part of joining is it not?

They also might face resistance from Spain, who aren't keen to see parts of larger countries declare independence then join the EU, they have Basque and Catalan regions to keep in check.
