Sheffield Council Could Be Suing Moor Owners

Yes. Probably because the company was prepared to invest significant amounts of money in it that the council didn’t have access to.

So by implication, you think they shouldn’t sue anyone, so those folk who they have a reason to seek redress in court against can get away with anything as they know the council won’t resort to the courts?

That's exactly right.

Let them explain to us why they want to spend OUR MONEY on legal battles.

There is often “capital”funding available to build things, but “revenue” funding that is used for maintenance is far more limited.  ( roads are a good example) It’s just a factor of how the government has set up local authority finance.

Marvellous that the rest of the country cab access revenue funding.

You always come up with some lame brained excuse for the council.

They were not maintaining the schools  properly 50 years ago.

Every public building which has come out of use, has been left to rot, like the old Town Hall.

The Town Hall proper is in a mess.

In Fact, very much like Westminster under our brilliant governments watch.

The fact is,  THEY ARE ALL USELESS.

If anyone knows someone who fancies ripping the council off without comeback, just pop them a line as apparently not a single penny should be spent on legal action to sue them. Organgrinder said so.

Not that he will see this as he claims to have me on ignore.

All councils have the same problems, that’s the reason there is nationally a £12 billion backlog of road repairs needed. The reason for it is systematic underfunding by government.

This isn’t “lame brained excuses” it’s the reason these problems exist and don’t go away. The reason is money. The government don’t provide enough of it to carry out the functions you would like to see.

But they seem to be providing SCC with enough of it for them to carry out functions very few of us WANT to see...

And people will be saying the same about any council in the land.

There are so many opinions on spending priorities and the functions councils carry out are so wide and diverse that it’s pretty much a certainty that everyone can find some element they disagree with.
