We were only in there once years ago because it was the only thing open in Broomhill after the pubs shut. We knew it was wrong. Pictures on the wall upstairs of Chris Waddle, Carlton Palmer and David Hirst eating there didn’t persuade us otherwise. The memorable meal was a chicken madras which seemed to be made hastily from a tin of tomatoes, curry powder (!) and 5 small lumps of chicken. They milked that place and I’m glad it’s gone. Broomhill has some great traders who have provided a good service to customers for many years. Look over the road at Record Collector for example. BK chose a different approach. If he ever did then maybe it was in the early/mid 70s when Hallam Towers was the hotel for visiting superstars (e.g. Bowie).
