I'm not really surprised at all because they're very good at mining the zeitgeist (ie trawling through social media) and relentlessly targeting their demographic for that particular section of the paper. They're also superb - as many of your posts here demonstrate - at crafting clickbait, and that includes columns from the likes of Jonathan Jones as well as the usual blather from Stuart Heritage.
