Whats Happening In Guardian Land Today

Who is suppressing any ones views?

The Guardian is racist and sexist.  You will never change my view on that. Ever.

If you haven't just made that up, you can gleefully report them for that.

If you don't, we can take it that,  it's another figment of your imagination.

After all,  A guy who hates Labour with a vengeance but spends every morning reading the latest Labour supporting newspaper, can't be wrong can he?

As they said, "Some mothers do have em"

The intense level of politically based hate we see promoted in the media, is found mainly in the U.S. and Britain, arguably the bastions of freedom and democracy..

Co-incidently the historic military opposition to totalitarianism, around the World, from Communism, Fascism, and Imperialism, has been fought to the death and led. mainly by these two democracies.

They are destabilizing the other militant democracy, Israel, as we speak!

If the international Left can reduce these Nations to internal strife and economic chaos, they won't have to worry about the quislings in continental Europe, France, Germany, Hungary, etc, who have shown they will salute any flag that's planted on their soil.

Russia, China Iran, now South Africa, and the Middle East are salivating at the thought of these once powerful nations destroying themselves from within.

They have Biden in the U.S. and who knows who in Britain.

The other World Nations, India, South America, and Africa are watching from the sidelines and weighing their bets.

Historic times indeed!

Unfortunately for Bundy, rather than have an open mind, he has all sorts of preconceptions about the Guardian, reads it faithfully (good job it's not behind a paywall), and hey presto! He finds what he's looking for. Pure confirmation bias. Which is why nobody takes his 'findings' seriously.

It comes as no surprise that rather than comment on the subject in question, yourself and the like would rather attack the poster who is highlighting blatant racism and sexism.

I thought your ilk would be in full support of such things?

Obviously not.

Identity politics at its finest.

I will highlight hypocrisy again.

Picasso on their hate list now... CANCEL!!!!!

"Today, Picasso is more often talked about as a misogynist and cultural appropriator, the ultimate example of problematic white guys clogging up the artistic canon".

There is no end to their hate and racism.

Disgraceful

Applauding violence also.

You might want to read the Guardian article you linked a little more carefully :hihi:

I have.

And no matter how much the hypocrites try to spin it, just like Mr Linekar, we know exactly what they mean.

It's not a personal attack on you, rather an attack on the method you've chosen to analyse the Guardian.

You don't take into account that many of the articles you point to are opinion pieces rather than editorials. Now of course you're perfectly entitled to disagree with what the opinion piece has said, and what I've found with the Guardian is that in a couple of days time they will often have other writers who disagree with the stance taken, and offer a different perspective.

Another example is this one on Picasso:

You might have missed the sentence before the one you quoted as saying:

"When Picasso died at the age of 91, 50 years ago tomorrow, the Guardian called him the most influential artist of the 20th century."

The article itself is prompted by the Brooklyn Museum mounting an exhibition on Picasso's work called "It's Pablo-matic" - a play on words suggesting there's something problematic about Pablo's work. Hence the sentence:

"Today, Picasso is more often talked about as a misogynist and cultural appropriator, the ultimate example of problematic white guys clogging up the artistic canon".

That's how I read it anyway.

To further point, the writer then goes on to offer artist's and curator's differing opinions on Picasso, emphasising the point that this isn't the writer offering his own opinion on Picasso, but suggesting that people in the industry have different views on him.

Incidentally if the writer of the article offered the quotation you highlighted as his own views, and allowed no others then I'd agree with you.

The Guardian

Fomenting and promoting discord, rage, and hate every day.

Is it just to sell their rag, or do they share the aims and goals of the enemies of democracy around the World, who seek to de-stabalize and undermine Western society?

Black against white, straight against gays, men against women, rich against poor, renters against landlords, vegans against meat eaters, civilians against Bobbys, socialists and against conservatives, bicyclists against motorists, customer against shop staff, and today between childless and child bearing women? That covers everybody in a society, but every day a new chasm is found, or more correctly, invented.

The chasm between mothers and childless women is widening

Seeing friends move on to motherhood without me is made all the more painful by a chronic failure of empathy on both sides

"Every day I struggle to suppress the bubbling panic that I might never have children.

It has been mentally exhausting and often lonely, hovering between potential motherhood and ending up permanently childless. The experience has been made all the more fraught by what feels like a growing chasm between childless women and mothers. In recent years, it feels like both camps have developed a chronic lack of empathy for the other".

A 'Fetish'?

"Just look at the number of likes and comments on any post announcing an engagement, first home, marriage, pregnancy or baby’s birth. Society has always celebrated heteronormative achievement, but social media has borderline fetishised it. Motherhood is still seen as the ultimate success – and lots of childless women feel this acutely, myself included."

The Blame

"The real culprit in all of this is, of course, the patriarchy. There is nothing the patriarchy loves more than women tearing each other down."

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2023/apr/07/chasm-mothers-childless-women-widening-motherhood-empathy

So women tearing women down is  men's fault! As a father, that's absolute nonsense!

I would say it the blame belongs to people like her, and her employer, The Guardian.
