All because our Gazza offered his opinion on illegal immigration. Now I am not saying he is right or wrong ,but I will defend his right to say it as I would defend contributions on this forum as well as others to be aired in good faith . Contrary to popular belief, the UK isn't the 51st US State, we do NOT have "freedom of speech" under the 2nd or 3rd Amendment. Why would he be miserable? He's well respected, earned his money by his exceptional footballing skills on the pitch, and is a great communicator. I wonder if Sky or other broadcasting organisations will be negotiating with him. He could certainly earn more at a fully commercial broadcaster - if money is his motivation.
