May be an image of 3 people and text that says 'Let Wednesday think they've got a draw TUE 21 MAR 2023 LEAGUE ONE Barnsley 4 2 Sheff Wed'

Now that made me chuckle!!!!!

A nice English heritage plaque on Olive Grove complimenting Sheffield Wednesday as being one of the first togga teams in the World  Years before most others kicked a ball.    the Owls (originally named the blades ). Along with Notts County set the whole pro  sharabang in motion it seems , Lick that

Do you often go around licking plaques on walls.............UGH!!!!

Super game to watch, and bad defending cost The Owls victory, thought after 2-2,Darrem Moore would have been happy with a point, but going to try win the game made us end up losing it with our players in the attack area instead of defending, weak substitute bench showed that we should have got some cover in,as the number of injuries is making us weak in midfield & defence,3 games now before Plymouth play again and 2 before Ipswich play,so no need to panic yet

Yep, that weak bench is crawling into the starting 11 now. Waiting for specialist results on Byers and Windass isn't good. I watched a bit of the Ipswich game on Saturday, Luongo started for them, what I'd give to have him now. Don't think it would have taken a lot to keep him either.

I wondered, that if Notts County were the oldest English league club- and they are-  who did they play their first league game against ? The answer (oldest) seems to be Nottingham Forest or Stoke City.

Last week I read a book about  County and aparantaily they played matches in South Yorks against the Owls , They also played against Worksop Town among a couple of others spreading from Nottingham towards Sheffield , A mini league among the first pro clubs

That is because Forest and Stoke have always been in the four divisions. The  segregated third division - north and south- was disbanded in  1958 to create the fourth division.

Luongo has been unfit for the majority of the season…he couldn’t get a game for Middlesbrough & only just got himself fit at Ipswich …don’t think he’s been missed at Hillsborough to be honest…
