Just adds another layer of unease as well.

imagine next Sunday in Meadowhall when 30,000 sirens go off - sure that won’t sound sinister at all.

I don't think I've spoken to more than a couple of people who are in favour of it. The vast majority don't want it.

Same but you have to turn it off rather than turn it on.

so I’d imagine loads are either unaware or just haven’t bothered cos it’s not a big issue.

i just don’t like it.

if we start getting nightly air raids I’ll happily have it to give me a heads up - until that - no ta.

My bold.

And that's the exact thing most of the people I've spoken to complained about. Another one is Not being able to opt out of the system instead of having to alter settings on their own devices.

If anyone is in favour and happy to get them then I'm very pleased for them.

But for me? Like you say, no ta.

I might be stating the bleeding obvious here, but if you're phone isn't connected to a 4G/5G network, you won't get the alert.

Seems to be a very simple solution staring us in the face...

Are people aware that they don't have to be connected to the internet at all times?

Or have I missed something?

You haven't missed anything, but they have
