Failing Nhs

The NHS has been mismanaged for decades, through Labour governments as well as Conservative.

If that is true, do you accept that you must accept it's failings, as none of the party's can fix it?

With a worsening lifestyle, people are living longer, so it must be doing something right.

The NHS is awesome

Thats why all the expats and holiday makers come running home whenever the poo hits the fan

Its one of the biggest organisations in the world so its never going to be perfect.....especially no one is accountable for the money that is wasted

Its used as a political football and weaponised by whoever is not in power

Do you come back from your place in Florida if you’re feeling ill?

When Conservatives took over in 2013 the NHS budget annually was £112 billion, now in 2023, a decade later it's ~£188 billion

2010 with the "coalition" - 2015 with their own majority.

I've watched the above Starmer video.

Yes I'm surprised there's not been anything about it on the mainstream media (as far as I know) as it's an interesting speech. Not specific enough of course, but when are they ever?

It all depends on whether you can trust him to deliver, but then again it's a certainty that the NHS will get a lot worse under the Tories if they are allowed to continue with their demolition of it.

Starmer's vision sounds convincing, but is a typical politician's speech, light on the detail.

We all know what needs to be done, what we want to know is how it will be done.

He talks about building up the care workers into a profession, and paying them better, good, but no mention of incorporating them into the NHS which I think is essential.

And he seems to think that AI is going to come to the rescue which fills me with dread.

Nevertheless, it's still worth a watch.

Anything Starmer says about the NHS can be dismissed in a stroke due to the way Labour in Wales has managed their NHS.

Whenever there's a serious issue in England, be it with the hospitals, waiting times or ambulances,  then Labour are all over it.

Yet when it happens in  Wales - nothing.  While Labour MPs today continue to throw mud at Braverman for her speeding, this happens

Woman died on floor after waiting over five hours for ambulance in Wales
