Have The French Got The Right Idea?

If you live in a democracy, you tend to get the government you deserve.

No more, no less!  :)

Vote wisely!

Trouble is,  no matter what they call it, we don't live in a true democracy with our political system.

A massive majority of seats, for a small minority of votes is wrong and we should have PR

The French don't muck about do they?

Over a  million of them went on the march because the government had the temerity to try and raise the pension age from 62 to 64.

It all ended in tears with rioting and disorder which I don't approve of, but the French now have a better standard of living and services than we do because the French government know the French people en masse are a force to be reckoned with, and they have to take notice or they start chopping heads off.

Our government by contrast is constantly riding roughshod over the people and clamping down on our rights to protest about it,

Is it time we took a leaf out of the French  book?

Yes.

far too complacent here.

Yes, I agree with that too.

Especially when dealing with a government as greedy and devious as ours, who better their own lot, whilst making sure that everybody else gets crumbs.

It's easy enough to change their minds.

That was proved in Liverpool when they decided to tame Thatcher.

An embarrassing contribution.

Another embarrassing contribution.

Westy,  the vast majority of this country don't want a Royal family so why burden the disfunctional perverts on France who literally beheaded their lot.

Cobblers.

Not cobblers at all.

Why are they so scared of letting us have a vote to see if we want to keep them?

Because they know the answer will be no.

Same reason as they won't let Scotland have another referendum.
