Why Should People Vote Labour In May ?

Recommended Posts

Anyway, back to the thread 'Why Should People Vote Labour In May ?', you know local matters, why don't we get our pavements swept every day like we did 20 or so years ago; why is it taking years to repair that pothole I reported, etc, you know the local things the local elections are supposedly about.

Well, you vote for the same, you get the same.

Yes, why should people vote Labour in May?

But the problem is will a different party do things differently ?

The only way things will change is if a completely different party to the present ones were voted in and had a clean sheet to work from with no previous obligations.

Will anyone different suddenly get a load of money to start sweeping pavements every day?

The answer is no.

The answer is no.

It's a question of what they prioritise.

Our Council Tax has risen considerably this year, and was never cheap in the first place, so they do have money. Maybe not enough for everything, but it is important what they have, (which is still considerable) is spent wisely.

That's why you should take an interest and vote.

And hold them to account by being a pain in the butt if they don't deliver.

And you clearly have a simple misunderstanding of how council budgets work. How much do you think a council gets from council tax as a percentage of its overall budget?

Go on, have a guess.
