Chips in a breadcake I would guess? It seems so weird that we call it a breadcake. Such a weird name, I can imagine the Scots or the Liverpudlians calling it that, but Sheffield seems to be very no nonsense when it comes to terminology. I wonder how that name came about.

No chips involved.

Two slices of potato and a layer of fish between all with a batter coating.

It does make a fair filling in a bread cake.

There is a row of mature fig trees that produce fruit growing along the canal banking  adjacent to what remains of the old Guest and Chrimes buiding. They are on right side of the photo. There is not much left of the building on the left of the photo now.

With all the land contamination around there, I wouldn't go eating any of the fruit, compounded by the fact that its so near to  central dirty Rovram means it needs leaving well alone.
