But back when I was a young man, that tiny bottle of Chanel No.5 was a guaranteed killer gift. Today Red Door is in demand where I live.

Swapped my bottle of Brut in 1970 to a girl I was seeing, for a copy of I'll Take You Where The Music's Playing, by the Drifters. Old Spice aftershave was good for getting rid of cold sores.

Yes,  'real men' would probably prefer the aroma of Eau de BeeOh to Brut!

Educated 'real men' on the other hand would know the difference between sent (verb) and scent (noun).

Oh, pardonne-moi!

 

But back in the day we had lavs, not loos (guardez l'eau). Spice, not bon bons. Boozers, not bistros, Chips not frites, Cake not gateau, and yes Virginia, sent (sic), not fragrances or parfum.

 

Drop words like that in the local boozer, and real men would give you smile.
