AST2006
Green Estate Ltd have got a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund for the Sheffield Manor Lodge Community Archaeology project, which is due to start very soon. The project will carry out much needed archaeological survey work on the Manor Lodge site, whilst training volunteers in archaeological survey skills, finds identification and running a series of workshops and talks. Hopefully there will be excavations in the future that trainees and volunteers can take part in. There will also be the creation of a local archive of artefacts and documents and an oral history project starting in the winter - so if you have any old photographs, maps, newspaper articles, letters, memories or anything else to do with the Manor Lodge site then please let us know as we would love to see / hear them. Likewise, if anyone has any ideas or if you would like to be involved in any (free) archaeological workshops in the future then let us know too!
