Texas Man, 36, Is Sentenced To 70 Years In Prison For Spitting At Cops.

The interesting thing though is despite the excessive sentence, the area in which the defendant lived was one of the most crime ridden in USA.

So there doesn't seem to be any deterrence effect of harsh punishments.

God only knows what sentence he’d have received had he farted whilst spitting.

Spitting at/on a person is an assault, even in the UK.  Looking at this outstanding criminal's form I would say the police, the public and his own family are well rid of him!
