Scc. We Need Your Help. We're Clueless!

Recommended Posts

SCC have want your ideas & suggestions to formulate a blueprint for the city.

https://www.thestar.co.uk/business/appeal-for-ideas-to-drive-sheffield-forward-met-with-calls-for-mass-resignations-in-town-hall-4124081

At the risk of stating the obvious, does this mean those highly paid officials, planning officers, etc, including our CEO Kate Josephs, haven't got a clue what to do next?

Or is this just a paper, tick-box exercise, to try & convince the citizens of Sheffield, "We're listening to you.  We've taken your ideas on board but....?"

Personally, if you want an idea, (and I speak as an inveterate car driver who only uses public transport when necessary), I'd say restore the bus routes along Leopold St, past the Town Hall & down Pinstone St., through the so called 'Heart of the City.'

Over to you lot as SCC don't seem to know what to do?

Christ almighty.  SCC can't win.

Everyone whines that the council never listens to the public. Never gives them opportunity to have their say. Never allows them to contribute to things..... Now everyone is whining because the council is asking for feedback or input or suggestions whilst slagging them off for not being capable of making their own decisions and  preemptively declaring they won't listen to it anyway.

I rarely argue with you, but you must have seen the times when there have been 'surveys' by SCC which clearly pointeed in the opposite direction to which they went? And I'm sorry, I've been around long enough to know how councils act.

Do you honestly believe the council will act on any  feedback ?

This time, no they can't because the general consensus is that people have lost confidence in the council.
Like Rotherham Council or a failing school, it should be placed into special measures and temporarily controlled by government experts.

A consultation is not a ballot. They are very different things.
