Re open Leopold Street and reintroduce the bus services along there.

Remove the ridiculous "clean air zone" scheme.

Clamp down on pavement parkers with penalties enforced more rigorously.

Enhance Victoria Quays with an events stage and council endorsed boat trips/sightseeing excursions.

Reinstate Moorfoot toilets and also the toilets at the Town Hall.

Safely demolish the asbestos ridden John Lewis store and open it as an events arena, sell this off to a private company and use the profit to improve amenities such as benches and litter bins.

Make Graves Park a protected conservation area to prevent it being ruined by new build housing projects.

Use the space where the rag tag market used to be to create a night shelter for the homeless and get people doing community service sentences to staff it.

so I find it difficult to believe that they’d tell an outright lie on air.

Sheffield city council have been found guilty of lying / misleading a court and the public over the tree felling saga. You really think they wouldn’t lie on a radio station interview where they know they wouldn’t be challenged

My bold.

Not exactly correct.  Senior Lab councillors have been found to have misled the council & electorate.

It's all on the local Labour group, nobody else.

and the courts - extract from the enquiry report. The report does single out senior leaders who were all labour but the council at that time was not fully labour so there were other party councillors on the council at the time

“The fact that this cannot be attributed to an individual should not take away from the gravity of the court being misled by a document produced by the council.”

Some good ideas.

Also make Victoria Quays accessible, or has the lack of through traffic already done that?

Its perfectly accessible, why on earth do you think otherwise? Two separate entrances off the Parkway and the Ring Road, and thats ignoring the car park at the hotel.

Victoria Quays is very accessible. it also has one of the cheapest parking in sheffield (£3.50 all day) and straight on and off the ring road.

In relation to Irenes post. the Dorothy Pax puts on a lot of events down on the quays. Pax  in the  Park is in July and the water trust tend to hold events in the summer down on the quays. Its a lovely place to go on an evening.

there are private boat trips up and down the canal already.
