Sheffield Wednesday fans criticise shocking pricing of 2023/24 season tickets - Fan Banter

Indeed can only think there’s no owls fan on this forum who actually go to their games

apparently their south stand cost £535 last year against £720 on the latest offer but that’s just a 35% ish increase to maybe watch the pub league again

disgusting imho and a slap in the face for them armchair fans who will fill the ground on Sunday as part of their annual visit

Our mate @bassett one not got owt to say on this? His saviour has learnt his lessons and all that...  and now he's taking the michael out of the fans with that pricing.

Suppose they have to bridge the gap for the large percentage of Firestick owls somehow?

I'm suprised none of the more sensible owls on here haven't posted their views on the ticket price increases. They do seem to have gone through the roof!!!!

They're only interested in Blades financial topics Pal.

Ridiculous pricing rhough, absolutely shameful truth be said. In times where people are having to make a decision between heat and eat, the club go for London prices at League One Sheffield Wednesday.

No consideration towards affordable family football what so ever. Therefore I am in no doubt that many will be waiting until after the play-offs before they make a decision to buy.... failure to achieve promotion could well prove costly for the club next season at this rate. If it's an attempt to balance to revenue to wage bill ratio, it could cause problems.

Likes been said if your renewing then the prices aren't that bad. Trying to draw new supporters in at those prices though is going to be difficult. Even just making the kids ones reasonable would be better than nothing.

I'll never be a season ticket holder though so more concerned about pay on day pricing rather than season tickets.

True. Because if you make the U18s tickets cheap, then you have a better chance of bringing in that new generation of supporters.

But for the casual sports fan in Sheffield (eg students) with no allegiance, then I think whats actually more important are the match day prices. That and  (probably actually even more important for the non-allegiance sports watchers) the attraction of the level of football and the overpaid superstar competition - which SUFC have the benefit of….for the next season anyway.

Especially with your ground being in walking distance of the student flats. It does bring the problem of your ground size back though attracting the students as you don't have many spare seats generally as it is.

True - last few games were sell-outs for home tickets. So, yes, without increasing capacity, the club has a problem. Its match day income is absolutely capped. Pretty sure (for the time being) that the club could get more through the gate, but it would be an absolutely immense outlay to increase capacity.

Agree with your comment on location too. It’s ideal for many many students. I’ve definitely noticed an influx of students since the last short Premier League spell.

Shame we don’t have an owner in the construction & property industry, eh?!!!
