Tip Question

Recommended Posts

Hey, I have a question. What happens when you go to the tip? Can you just take any old household waste and drop it off there or does it need to be recycling?

On the council website, they seem to be listed as household recycling sites but I just have some black bags of general mixed rubbish that I need to get rid of. Could I do that at one of the tips? How does it work?

Apologies for what's probably a naïve question, it's just not something I've ever done before!

Yes you can, there's a separate container for "general" waste.

At least there is at Blackstock Road, don't quote me on the others.

Yes they are all the same.

The Veolia Sheffield website should tell you what the prohibited items are.

Can I be a bit rude and hijack this thread to ask how I can get rid of some car tyres?

Hijack away :)

Blackstock road tip will be good for your requirements

It will take you over an hour to queue up mind seeing as no one there directs cars into spaces and most people are too dim to work it out for themselves.

I've never queued up there for an hour. Most was ever 20 minutes and even then the queue went back to the main road.
