The more observant of us will no doubt have noticed that the "ellipsis" in question appears to be followed by 2 full-stops...

... or maybe it's preceded by 2 full-stops...

... or it might even have a full-stop at either end.

 

Whatever it is, it's clearly NOT an ellipsis.
