I Need  Phone Advice For Long Term Banking Use.

My bank has advised  that Android version 8 is going to be the minimum level of Android that will work with their banking system/software. Hence  I need a 'new' 2nd hand phone to future proof the banking app.

I Prefer Android, but which  2nd hand Android phone  would keep me going for a few years in respect of version updates for the model of phone. I find things like this difficult to work out. Basically I would ideally like a phone that would support the banking app version up to about 2028, so 5 years. Is that realistic? If not can you advise me which way to do things.

Whats your budget?

Are you paying cash or getting a contract?

Ideally you need one with a 64 bit processor rather than a 32. Also we need an idea of how much you are prepared to spend (as above)

From the tech point I just know the minimum version of Android to function with the banking app is version 8.  The version updates for my current phone S5, have ceased. So it is on it's limit which is Android version 6.0.1
