crookesey
It's strange how these serial killers slip up, by doing something stupid. The Ripper's mistake was the tools, Brady and Hindley's mistake was to bring in an accomplice, who reported them following him witnessing Brady putting an axe blade in the head of Edward Evens. Really? Bit on the side? Where do you get your ideas from? I think it was a tragedy that the police officers who nabbed Sutcliffe never got the reward monies that were on offer. If any deserved the reward, they did. It was a routine check on his dodgy plates, that got him. Well done those chaps!
devlin
24 hrs after she was stopped with sutcliffe me and my mate saw her in a niteclub in town. she's got more nerve then i have, I would have been a mess! At the time that the Ripper was caught with Olivia, she was around 4.5 months pregnant, with twins. She lived in Popple Street at Page Hall at the time. I was admitted to the Northern General in late April and was in a small 3 bedded ward with Olivia. To say she has nerve is wrong the lass was a total mess, a complete nervous wreck who had suffered terribly with her nerves / mental well being etc..due to knowing that she was minutes from death on that night in early January. She gave birth to a baby boy and a baby girl in early May (1982) both of who were rushed to Jessops for specialist care but there was no room for her to go with them, so she had to stay put at the Northern for a few days till a bed was found for her at Jessops. During that time she used to help me with my baby boy, nursing him and responding to him when he cried etc... I really liked her she was a very kind and gentle person. Olivia had 2 other children, a son and a daughter. A black male called Joseph used to bring them to see her everyday and they were lovely kids and always immaculatey turned out. Within a few days of their birth and after Olivia had left for Jessops the nursing staff told us that one of her twins did not make it..... very sad. jackmarr
Hi everybody. A friend of mine has an interest in true crime and reads a lot about famous serial killers. He lives in Manchester and is hoping to visit soon. He's asked me if I know where the Yorkshire Ripper, Peter Sutcliffe was arrested for the final time in Sheffield, as he'd like to go there. I'm not too sure - for some reason I thought it was near the Cathedral - but I've read that it was actually in Broomhill. Just wondering if anybody happens to know roughly where it was, or even the exact area where he was arrested? Thanks. It was Wilkinson Street or lane broomhill
Rivelin6
It was Wilkinson Street or lane broomhill No it wasn't, if you read this thread properly you will find it was Melbourne Ave that leads off Newbold Lane at Broomhill. Opposite King Edward V11 Upper school and by the High School for girls. I know because I walked past on the night and regularly went to King Teds annexe on there.
