Sheffield Wednesday Football Club incorporated on the 8th of June 1990 is 33 years old.

During the season 2020-2021 Sheffield Wednesday were deducted 12 points for breaking spending rules.  In July 2021 Sheffield Wednesday Football Club ( Incorporated 1990 ) accepted a suspended six point deduction which would come into effect if the club did not pay in full the arrears owed to their players. Wednesday supporters have had to sue the club

Sheffield United Football Club incorporated on the 22nd of March 1889 has never been deducted points for non payment of staff or players and has gained promotion to the Premier League, a division which the football club based in S6 hasn't appeared in this century so far.

In fact, unless they can emulate the Blades and win two promotions on the trot next season it will be a quarter of a century and three relegations to the third division since they last appeared in the top flight.

You really should make some attempt to think things through before posting. United (  and a number of other businesses including John Lewis ) were named as paying 25 of their staff less than they should have. United apologised and reimbursed the employees.

There is no comparison with what went on at Hillsborough. This sums up your club https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-wednesday/sheffield-wednesday-fan-denied-new-season-ticket-following-civil-money-claim-against-club-3785800

Do yourself a favour and stop making yourself look daft.

Chansiri got fined for spending his own money, you got away with non payment of bills for services and players, (my comment made no mention of staff, I forgot you didn't pay them either) unfortunately the ridiculous EFL rules allow your financial misdemeanors to go unpunished, that doesn't help the small companies who were waiting for money, that says more about the rules themselves than the clubs involved.

Might not have been in the Prem this century but I've still seen more games in it than you.

Do yourself a favour and stop typing rubbish.

Incidentally get a sub contractor in to do some work on your house and don't pay them on time, you'll be able to explain to them how it's normal business practice while your picking your teeth up off the doormat.

You are that arrogant  that you believe the rules don't apply to your club, only to everyone else? The rules are the rules you 🤡 anyone with any intelligence understands that.

Your club cheated, employed players that they couldn't pay the wages for because of the rules that applied to every club, were happy to gain the advantage of having better quality players then whined when they were found out.

When your lot stiffed the Co-op for millions you don't think any other businesses were involved and took a hit as well?

When you watched games in the Prem it wasn't the league it is now, but you wouldn't know that would you seeing as how it was last century and you've no idea what it's like now?

Do yourself a favour and accept that your club is nothing special and has an embarrassing history. Why did Wednesday feel it necessary to form a new company, incorporated in 1990?

We all know why, have some shame and shut up.

How long does it take for it to be gone?.

You keep going on about a mutual agreement do you mean that they were told either take a £17m hit or the club goes bust and you get nothing?...

What about something a little more recent like not paying players?.

Better still even more recently not paying your fans what they are owed and banning them from buying another season ticket when they asked for what was theirs?.

Can you show me how many of these people you speak of actually got a court judgement against United?.

Legally speaking no they don't. Todays SWFC is a different legal entity to the club that existed prior to 1990 and took part in those competitions.

To give a hypothetical example of the situation, if a company found itself involved in a major controversial situation and realised that it could be found culpable and be sued they could avoid their responsiblity by ending the existence of the company involved at the time of situation and incorporating as a new and different entity.

Obviously, in order for that to happen they would need to deny any legal association with the previous company of the same name.

Therefore Legally speaking the history of that company began on the date of the latest incorporation.

Fans support the team not whoever owns them.

It's not about who owns them though is it? It's about identity of the club they support. SWFC  has a different identity now to what it had before 1990.

That won't effect the fans of course, they will continue to support the club as they did previously. It only becomes relevent when any of their fans try to point the finger at S2 accusing the Blades of less than perfect behaviour.

Perhaps it hasn't always been perfect but nothing in comparison to some of the goings on at Hillsborough.

Very true. I was on holiday in Kos a few weeks ago and bumped into a family while walking around the marina, the dad and two sons were wearing Rotherham shirts and we had a chat. As we parted we wished each other well for next season, as I was walking away the dad said            " Mind you, now that the Massive are back we'll not be in the limelight much. " I replied " Well, us ordinary clubs need to know our place in the scheme of things don't we? "

We all had a laugh and went our separate ways.
