Correct, the Tory government did challenge the original decision the parole board made to release the double child murderer from prison.
Guest
It's very nice to see, and very unusual, everyone who has commented share the same view, as do I. The very thought of him being released, turns my stomach and I've always believed that child killers should never, under any circumstances, enjoy 1 day of freedom. crookesey
It wouldn’t take me long to decide to pull the trigger/handle, so what does that make me?

A good citizen? Somewhere in between? Personally I'd not kill him. I'd prefer for him to live a long life in a tiny cell with no interaction from the outside world and absolutely no possibility of parole.
m williamson
I don't believe in capital punishment. Too many innocents would have been killed by the state if it still existed. However, take a life other than in self defence and you should forfeit your life in return, imprisonment without release. Basil Laitner was my solicitor before he and other family members were murdered in their home by Arthur Hutchinson. He applied for parole a while back and thankfully was refused. Pitchfork is an obvious danger to women. How anyone thought he should have been allowed out in the first place is incredible but allowing him out again when he proved on the last occasion that he was still a threat is absolutely unbelievable!

Johnnybrew
I don't know why we tolerate people like him. He should have been executed years ago.
