York And Lancs New Memorial At Redmires

Recommended Posts

Together with a couple of friends I visited Serre in 2013.  My fathers first cousin was one of those Sheffielders who died on the 1st of July 1916 attacking the German position in Serre.

He's buried in Luke Copse Cemetery, which differs from other cemeterys in the area in that it's smaller and for some reason the gravestones are lined down one wall

' Out Horace ' was 19 when he died.

If there is a new memorial I'll have to visit it.
