Can Anyone Lend Farage A Tenner?

I see from the London Evening Standard that seven other banks have refused Farage the facility to open accounts. All seven in cahoots with Coutts just because of the man's opinions? I think not.

No, it's likely he has a nice lovely CIFAS marker on his credit file for some reason.  That reason, however, will be nothing to do with his legal political beliefs.

This is of course assuming he is actually telling the truth.

Why would he lie :suspect:

Would also want to know what banks he is actually going to tbh. If he is going to specialist banks like Coutts they have strict criteria that wont even get him in the door unless they are met (amount of savings etc), same as anyone else.

If its the mainstreams (HSBC, Lloyds etc) then the decision to open an account is "computer says yes/no" and wholly based on internal credit scoring (not the fancy number Clearscore make up, that is meaningless), if he has a fraud/CIFAS marker on his file from the original freezing of the accounts in the original article he will struggle to get any kind of bank account tbh.

Funny how this only seems to happen to populist politicians with overt -or more hidden- ties with sanctioned individuals and countries.

Marine LePen had banking services similarly withdrawn years ago. Then she turned to a Russian bank for a loan. That went well.

She also denied being aware that the Russian company had repurchased only the debt that concerned her party and not the total assets of the bank in bankruptcy”. Fancy that 😏😆

Banking problems or a gravity test through a faulty high-rise window? I know which I’d pick 😁

I'm not sure that all participants are afforded that choice.
