They are using their definition of what constitutes "hate and intolerance", and, I would have to point out, it is an exceptionally low bar.

it happens all the time, we hear about sponsors removing their sponsorship deals because of something dodgy

That is entirely different.

A business sponsoring someone is entitled to expect that person to act as the sponsor wishes.

These are businesses of great power choosing to refuse customer(s) the access to their services if they hold views which the business disagrees with* and it is utterly appalling.

* views which, BTW, were not in the least bit controversial only 10 or 20 years ago and, I would strongly suspect, are STILL the views held by the majority of people.

It's the modern authoritarian woke world, we will tell you what to think, and if you do not we will make you suffer for it.

Wrong. Farage himself said he received notice  that his account would be closed two months ago, so why announce it now?

Nigel Farage has made himself look silly by revealing this news.  If he no longer meets the criteria to have a Coutts bank account then he should not make a fuss because he has been offered an alternative bank to use.  In these days of a cost of living crisis he is not going to receive sympathy regarding this matter.

Somewhere between "minimal time" and "two months".
