Who cares about how planning consent was obtained, The daughter helped Captain raise over £38 million for the NHS and deserves to receive an honour rather than be criticised. If it is in a conservation area any building or extensions normally have to fit in with the surrounding architecture. Regarding Captain Tom's daughter new building I suspect those complaining are doing so because they are jealous as the surrounding properties look a bit rough from the aerial picture. That's why we have planning laws to stop the small percentage of selfish idiots ruining everything. Wouldn't you mind if they decided to build a mosque, food kitchen or drug treatment centre, next door to you, and you had no say in it?
