Moses Basket / Carry Cot For Babies In Back Of Cars?

Just a quick question as I can't find the answer elsewhere.

Is it legal to carry a baby in a Moses basket or carry cot in the back seat of cars these days?

If yes, can you still buy the straps that fasten it down to the back seat? If so, what are they called?

 

Baby too small for a car seat, and I'm told Mum is not allowed to hold baby in back seat when travelling.

Is this correct?

What alternatives are there?

 

Any help would be appreciated.

 The baby is not too small and must be in a child's car seat.

 Must be a rear facing double secured purpose built seat.

 Go to Halfords or similar.

Thankyou for that.

So does that mean that secured carry cots in back seat are no longer allowed?

Do you know if rear facing car seat be turned to face forward at some later stage,  or does that require a different type of car seat?

 

My apologies. I've just looked at your Argos link. All the information there. 

Still a bit surprised about carry cots. I don't know how my kids survived...
