Dunno what a mux is

Channels are in groups (or a "mux" (plural "muxes")) on Freeview, think there are 8 of them.

Is it only certain channels or all of them? If its HD channels only, which HD channels?

if you're pointing at emley moor, do a manual scan on ch41 and check signal strength and quality

should pickup 11 stations  ...  bbc1-4 hd, itv1hd, ch4/5 hd, cbbc hd,cbeebies hd,tbn uk, 5 select

rescan the tv as well as the humax

Mine was unwatchable last night. Very annoying.

Turned it on this afternoon and it's fine.

I just don't get it...

How do you know this?

Where are the instructions in how to tell my smart TV to behave itself?

What is a humax?

I even have a Users Manual but it might as well be written in Chinese...

if it's happening to lots of people, it could be the weather, or a transmitter glitch, or power cut somewhere - emley moor was out of action for overnight maintenance a couple of weeks ago.

humax is a personal video recorder, between the aerial and the tv - the op mentioned they are using one, so that needs to be ruled out

you can find the mux groupings by doing a manual scan on your tv, there are websites that list them, but  they are often out of date/poorly laid out.

I may not be on Emily Moor I manual searched channel 41 and no signal strength at all then no channels found.

I think sort of.

are the aerial elements (yours and neighbours) vertical or horizontal

you can just go through all the channels and do a manual scan when they find a signal, to find the hd mux

trees nearby can also cause issues in summer
