Lionel Richtea Posted September 8 Share Posted September 8 Just returned from a family wedding in Sheffield and from what I saw on a Saturday morning it's going to take more than planters and an innovative waste management system to sort out Fargate and (in particular) Chapel Walk. Many of the shop facades are in dreadful condition - and for some reason the only interesting one (where Next was) is now a hole in the ground. Ms Richtea was particularly taken by the number of out-of-their-faces people out an about early doors - special shout out to the guy with the running, suppurating leg wound. There was a bizarre eery hush over almost the whole of the town centre until ~2pm when things seemed to perk up. The above plan seem to be heading back to what Fargate was back in the 80s - but didn't there used to be a nice fountain at the top back then (or is my mind playing tricks...)?
