ab6262
so the proposed red route lines on Ecclesall road have been abandoned due to just about everyone on this planet except the council traffic planners!!?? well well there is a suprise! you couldnt get these people to plan a party in a brewery? what a ludicrous idea in the first place. awaits Planner 1 defence? I have no idea if the entire thing has been binned though, or just the red line bit. Edited July 13, 2023 by HeHasRisen

yyy
Yes it is the handful of buses that are on Ecclesall Road at any one time that are the problem 😂
lobster
Don't think it was the planners fault . I had a clown from the Green Party round at Election time trying to justify it . Got a dose of reality

The scheme was about getting greater priority for buses if you read what it says on the commonplace link. The Red route is just to make enforcement easier using cameras. Yeah, make buses even slower and less reliable, so less people use them and more use their cars, creating even worse traffic congestion. Great way to improve things.

Great way to improve things. most dont want buses why priority?, they cause problems everywhere especially the drivers, pull over at 45deg? the red route was to stop all parking...yes thats good for business? buses are slow and unreliable, dont go where you want to go, get rid of bus lanes and the number of traffic lights like woodseats and the jams will lessen, open bus gates as well just another cash cow. 58 minutes ago, yyy said: Yes it is the handful of buses that are on Ecclesall Road at any one time that are the problem 😂 in empty bus lanes
Findlay
What I take from the reporting is they are going to trial it without the double red line restrictions to see if the traffic flows. If Ecclesall Road gets congested then they could bring in the red line restrictions. Not sure what the level of congestion will be in order for them to be painted.
