Irene Swaine
There are so many closed down factory sites around Kelham Island, Parkwood Springs etc. They are far more edgy than Hillsborough Park and have indoor options for inclement weather. It also would mean Hillsborough Park is available for all and sundry to enjoy with no grass damage. 1

Which ones are available for use by the organisers, and more to the point, offer anything like the floor space that Hillsborough Park offers? But in theory at least, that is a very, very good idea. Edited January 18 by pfifes

Of course, you do get places like Magna which put on live, multi-stage events, and many warehouses are used for raves/nightclubs, but none of those are the same scale of Tramlines in terms of crowds and facilities. Imagine the biggest disused building - or even just open wasteland - you can possibly think of in the industrial areas along the upper and lower Don Valley. Even the biggest isn't anywhere near as big as Hillsborough Park.
