Just Stop Oil supporters preparing to set off on another slow march in south London were surrounded by a group of counter-protesters calling themselves ‘Just Stop P***ing Everyone Off’.

 

 

The new group, wearing similar bright orange t-shirts, formed a human chain around the climate activists, who were sitting on the pavement ahead of a demonstration in Elephant & Castle.

 

In a statement, Just Stop Oil said a group of their supporters ‘were met with a counter-protest while preparing to slow march’.

Just stop oil.

 

They are turning most of the public against them,  peaceful protests are fine - but disrupting people's day to day journeys,  activities aren't.

 

How  do they want the government to do this and what do they want to be used instead of oil,  they cannot coerce the government which has been elected to do what they want imo.

 

Looks like they've met their Waterloo!

Its going to be non-violent carnage.

Now the police have more powers to deal with the just stop oil protesters it would be nice to see them being more active and dragging them off the road instead of the counter protesters doing there  job.

The counter protestors are actually helping Just Stop Oil.

JSO are wanting as much publicity as possible  ( that's the general idea )  and the counter protestors are giving them that.

I would prefer it if they protested about something more specific, like Amazon and online businesses  who still massively overwrap their products for delivery resulting in tons of plastic waste and polystyrene etc.

I agree with the point you make but if things are not overly wrapped, they get damaged by couriers who have absolutely no care about folks parcels.

Yes, I get that, but maybe they can come up with something a bit more sustainable and recyclable. 

Is anybody having a bash at inventing a kind of paper bubble wrap?
