Religions You Can Stuff Em .

Religious doctrines,  all manipulated by people with an agenda,  the straight and narrow has never been an easy path to follow,  there aren't many people who can be 'guided'.   Even if the bible isn't to be believed there's a lot of good in it,  bad people abuse it.

Does the 'good' outweigh the bad though?

God literally commanded a whole people to be slaughtered, men, women, children, even their animals. Everyone except the virgin girls who were taken as spoils of war.

They don't teach that in Church.

What little good is in the Bible can be found outside of the Bible, but the bad (and there is a lot of it) inspires people to do bad things, for example the rev Thornton Stringfellow wrote literature defending slavery and using the Bible as justification.

Bad people don't abuse the Bible, the Bible IS bad, and that inspires otherwise good people to believe bad things, reject science and reason and make choices that negatively effect others.

It’s about power and tribalism. Religion is just a way of enabling that.

I always think people must be very insecure about the religion they supposedly hold so deeply if those with a different or no religion offend them so much.
