Nothing to do with cheap flights, Al.

Common etiquette, good old English manners. Long gone.

The Cinemas used to have lines around the block. Everybody was just happy to be there.

Even for the cheap seats, a tanner for the "front".  :)

The English knew how to "queue" like civilized folk.

I dunno, I've flown 1st class and it's a completely different experience. I've never had to deal with feral chavs getting up for a **** every 20 minutes and bringing their fast food with them on those occasions.

Them, and the grossly obese who really should pay for 2 seats when they travel. They should make them pay for the bigger seats, up front with you lot :)

High carbon footprints too.

That’s why I travel first class on the train. So I don’t have to associate with people like me!

Good manners and consideration for others seem to be a thing of the past.

But they oiled the wheels of a civilised, cooperative society, and helped everyone rub along together without incident in an overcrowded and busy world.

That's why they are so important.

Mostly in the Western world.

Good manners and consideration are found in many other countries, especially in Asia and the Middle East.
