The_DADDY
In a sign of growing hostility towards the West since the coup in Niger, a businessman proudly shows off his outfit in the colours of the Russian flag in the traditional heartland of deposed President Mohamed Bazoum. Since the coup, there has been a war of words between the military and the West. Mr Bazoum was a staunch ally of the West in the fight against militant Islamists, and was a strong economic partner as well. Niger hosts a French military base and is the world's seventh biggest producer of uranium. The fuel is vital for nuclear power with a quarter of it going to Europe, especially former colonial power France. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-66365376 A sign of Africa moving away from the West and closer to Russia? Could this result in conflict or is it a whole load of fuss about nothing?

From slaves to resources as we colonised and treated the indigenous population like animals as we tried to ram Christianity down their throat's and smother their culture.. Western leaders are becoming more and more unwelcomed there, whilst the Russians and Chinese are welcomed with open arms, Africa is a vast continent with resources and land which could house the entire human population in comfort if need be......The West is no longer invited. Thats a damn fine post Padders 🙏
S1 1DJ
Also, not to forget recent history of the Cold War and allegiances in Africa during colonisation and emerging states following liberation struggles, this including apartheid South Africa. geared
Alot of African countries are drowning in debt, alot of which is to China. Russia steps in offering aid and military support, in exchange for resources. No-one is doing anything to help out of the goodness of their own heart, they want something in exchange.
Jim117
The country most in debt to China by a country mile is Russia. I guess Prigozhin has kept his head due to the great job Wagner PMC has done looking after the gold and diamond mines for Russia.
