I had many years in senior retail positions followed by similar in the financial services sector as a registered/qualified Insurance Broker. I generally found people to be fine and appreciative of my efforts to help them, there’s always the odd exception, but that’s life.

Your experience reflects my own.

But at work we concluded that part of the reason none of us, in any of our workplaces, had really suffered "abuse" is because we aren't over sensitive, a trait I suspect will be more common amongst the young these days and none of us could be remotely described as young...... It is entirely possible that the odd customer raising his voice because he's stressed / annoyed / angry would have been classified as "abuse" by some people. And, more seriously, if the "victim" does get to decide what abuse is, those customers could have found themselves banned from some stores, or even, who knows, the police involved.

It's frightening really.

I've just realised my Amazon locker was in Wilko's.....gutted

The main City post office is now Charles Street.

 

Some of the Amazon lockers of also moved to Charles Street along with locations at the Premier Inn on Angel Street, Moor Market, Spar shop outside the station and Velocity on Solly Street according to Google maps.

Retirement income for faithful colleagues should not be scythed to enter the Pension Protection Fund.  Shameful."

 

That's quite something coming from a right wing capitalist like Alex.

Also it's worth remembering that many of these workers if nearing retirement age will not be able to find other suitable employment. And if they have a few quid diligently saved for their old age, they won't be able to get any unemployment benefits either and they will be obliged to spend their savings, never to be replaced. Penury in old age awaits.
