Nowt we can do Irene, like or not the cashless society is fast approaching...

ECCOnoob is correct in what he says.

We'd best get used to it Irene, were in the minority...

A year or so ago, it did feel as though we were in the minority. However, I think things are changing. I do see more people using cash and I do see more independent businesses going cash only.

Absolute rubbish. I have seen the total opposite.

Ones that were always cash only anyway dont count.

Can you name these businesses that you have seen that have gone card only? It would be good to know so I can avoid them.

Absolutely not, because that's just exceedingly petty and you can find out for yourself when you go to them 😂

None then.

I never said that. If you haven't seen businesses going card only, you need to go for an eye test.

I will give you one though - the one in the opening post here, in a thread your old login contributed to before you deleted everything in a huff

It's not a laughing matter. Many independent business owners agree with us.

Independent business owners that probably aren't declaring all their income.

That's what the real reason behind the anti-card movement groups hide. The tax fiddle.

I howled when these self-employed/independent business owners were crying out because pandemic funding was based on tax declarations of previous years, so all those that were fiddling got next to nothing.

Preventing this rampant fraud is one of the major benefits of cashless. It's all electronic, no hiding.

I also find it a little hypocritical of an anti-electronic funds group accepting donations (for what?, zero running costs on Facebook groups) and having a Patreon account that only accepts ELECTRONIC fund transfers.....

I find that hilarious, and a little questionable.
